Intellectual Property Rights and AI: An Overview
Associate Professor Zehra Özkan Üner

Associate Professor Zehra Özkan Üner graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law and completed her PhD in the Department of Private Law at the same institution. Between 2007 and 2014, she served as a research assistant, later working as an assistant professor from 2014 to 2019. Since 2019, she has held the title of associate professor at Ankara University Faculty of Law. Alongside her academic work, she has undertaken various administrative roles, including Deputy Director of the Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Research and Application Center, Member of the Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Evaluation Committee, and Member of the Social Contribution Coordination Board within the university’s Rectorate. She teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in areas such as copyright law, industrial property rights, research methods, international IP law, and Anglo-American law. She has supervised numerous master's and doctoral theses focusing on the intersection of intellectual property law with emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, big data, contemporary art, gaming, and the defense industry. Known for her interdisciplinary approach, Dr. Üner continues to contribute significantly to national and international academic platforms.
